Janice Rumschlag's Super Fancy Actress Bio!

Janice Rumschlag (she/her/hers) is your quirky, energetic, smart AF best-friend (who may secretly love wearing tiaras and playing with Barbies as an adult...). She's an actress, improviser, and some-times singer. Janice draws inspiration for her characters from strong, independent, smart, badass women (past and present!). 

She relocated to the Bay Area from 2014 -2019, however the siren song of Chicago's innovative store-front theatre and improv comedy scene brought her back home to the Windy City just in time for the pandemic in early 2020. 

Notable Chicago Theatre Credits: Ensemble member of Improvised Jane Austen (ongoing, Chicago Reader 2019 Best Sketch/Improv Troupe), Lt. Amalda in Starship Edsel (ongoing) at Second City, Night of the Iguana (u/s, performed) and Cut to the Chase: Fifty Years, Palace of Riches, and A Very Busy Man with The Artistic Home, Sketchbook  11 & 12 with Collaboraction, Troll the Sequel, Troll Again at Chemically Imbalanced Comedy, The Nairobi Project at The Annoyance, and Friday the Halloweenth at the iO Theatre. 

Notable Regional Theatre Credits:  Predator Block Tango (2nd Place Overall Finalist (out of 48 plays!) in Shortlived VII: an 11 week audience judged theatre competition), Shotz SF, Pint Sized Plays, and Music/Scene at PianoFight, Besties with Left Coast Theatre Co., Confessions of a Catholic Child at The Exit Theatre.

Training: She is a graduate of The Artistic Home Studio, the ACADEMY at Blackbox Acting, the SF Meisner Technique Studio, and 1-5b at iO Chicago (Long-Form Improv). She also studied acting at Studio ACT, Acting Studio Chicago, Victory Gardens Training Center, University of Chicago, and musical improvisation at The Annoyance Theatre.
